In Colorado's Wet Mountain
Valley, we enjoy unspoiled scenery with lots of elbow room! Hunting and
fishing, hiking, camping and rafting, 4 wheel driving, mountain biking,
among other activities, are our favorite pastimes. The
Rainbow Trail lines the Sangre de Cristo range and our National Forest
boasts 52 alpine lakes up above. Wildlife abounds.
Climate in our area is milder than Northern
Colorado: dry, with highs in the summer reaching 90 degrees and lows in
the winter rarely dipping below 30, during the day. Summer
afternoon showers grace the summer, green landscape with much needed
moisture.

| Westcliffe, our quaint, local town, is
straight out of the turn-of-the-century Colorado history. It
boasts a down to earth nature, unlike the lofty commercialism attributes
of it's northern neighbors, Aspen and Vail. Texas Creek and
Cotopaxi are our smaller local river towns, 30 minutes to the North,
located along the Arkansas River. Cotopaxi School, since 1939
serves the Northern area of the Valley, K-12, while Westcliffe School
serves the South.
Motels and Restaurants, banks, a medical clinic, a
dentist, grocery stores and gift stores satisfy the needs of our
residents and visitors. Click
